Order Tickets Now for the January 21st Annual Mustang Foundation Banquet

The Mustang Foundation Banquet Committee is inviting all Independence Community School District (ICSD) fans to an evening enjoying the company of friends, indulging in fabulous desserts and together raising money for a common cause…supporting the Mustangs!

The upcoming banquet is scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2017. Social hour is set to begin at 5:30, dinner will be served shortly after 7:00 by Bill’s Pizza & Smokehouse.  Auction items will be available throughout the evening.

The 2017 Mustang Foundation Banquet emcees are Meg Rawlins, ICSD Gifted and Talented K-2 and 7-12 teacher and Danielle Meyer, East Elementary Principal. Rawlins and Meyer are sure to keep all banquet patrons entertained! Expect smiles, laughs and maybe even costume changes?

The Mustang Foundation’s annual banquet is highlighted by the unique way of presenting and serving desserts. The desserts are made by volunteer dessert chefs associated with various ICSD student activities, athletics or classrooms. These dessert chefs prepare lavish and indulgent desserts, in order to generate tips from the table they are serving; the chef with the largest amount of tips is declared the winner of the evening. These tips are then evenly distributed to benefit the ICSD groups who had a chef representing them.

The evening will also include live and silent auction items completely unique to the Mustang Foundation Banquet.  Expect to see varying auction items ranging from something you might find on a vehicle to something that takes you high above the clouds to items that will fill your tummies and summer schedules!

This past January, a sold out crowd raised over $20,000 toward the Mustang Foundation’s endowment fund, which is to benefit and support the extracurricular activities of the ICSD.

The Mustang Foundation, Inc. was formed in 1994 with the mission of the Foundation to solicit and receive contributions, grants, gifts and transfer of property to or for the benefit of the Independence Community School District. In 1998, Rudy Leytze donated $100,000 to create the Mustang Foundation Endowment Fund. The Foundation’s annual community banquet was created to strengthen the endowment fund. Additionally, a portion of the banquets proceeds go directly towards selected school projects/activities. Since the formation of the Foundation, the organization has funneled over $3 million in gifts toward the betterment of the ICSD.

Put on your maroon and white and come enjoy the 2017 Mustang Foundation Banquet!
