The Mustang Foundation, Inc. extends their appreciation to recent Final Push donor, Fusion Forward, LLC.

At a recent Mustang Foundation board meeting, Fusion Forward, an Independence based design and marketing company, made the monetary donation to the Final Push Project.  This gift helps cover the costs associated with the installation of the new synthetic turf at Leinbaugh Field, new tennis courts, a baseball/softball complex, an access road and two additional parking lots on the Independence Community School District campus.

2014 Mustang Foundation Banquet a Success!

Our fifth annual Mustang Foundation, Inc., Banquet was another success! That success was because of you, the generous individuals and businesses that supported the Foundation by attending our recent dinner and/or donating cash, items for the auctions or a dessert. A capacity crowd was there in full force. There was a great feeling of Mustang pride throughout the evening!

Our intent with the banquet is to continue to raise the public’s awareness of the Foundation’s Endowment Fund and establish an annual event in which people in the community can unite in support of a common goal – to support the special projects of the Independence Community School District now and in the future. We accomplished our goal! We had another record fundraising event, with net proceeds over $22,000! This total includes the $7,000+ raised in dessert tips and those funds will be put directly towards current school projects.

Thank you again for stepping up to make a difference! Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

4th Annual Mustang Foundation Banquet – Get your tickets ordered today!

An evening spent with friends, enjoying fabulous desserts and raising money for a common cause. It’s not hard to see the appeal of the Mustang Foundation’s Annual Banquet coming on Saturday, January 26th.

The Mustang Foundation’s annual banquet is highlighted by the unique way of serving dessert. Numerous dessert chefs from within the community prepare lavish and indulgent desserts, in order to generate tips from the table they are serving. The chef with the largest amount of tips is declared the winner. Each year the dessert portion of the evening has become more entertaining as the desserts have become more extravagant. Last year’s desserts made by our volunteer celebrity dessert chefs raised over $8,000 in tips!

The evening also includes live and silent auctions, which generally have included items completely unique to this banquet.

This past January a sold out crowd enjoyed an evening of great food and fun, and raised over $2,000 toward the Foundation’s endowment and projects to improve the Independence Community School District.

This year’s banquet is scheduled for January 26, 2013 with social time scheduled to begin at 5:30 and dinner served shortly after 7:00. To order your tickets or to sponsor a table, please call Susan Johnson at 319-334-2413. This has been a sell out event every year, so plan on ordering your tickets early. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Remember to wear your maroon and white and show your Mustang spirit!

Anyone wanting to volunteer as a dessert chef, will receive a discounted ticket to the event if they sign up as a chef prior to December 31. Please contact Susan Johnson at the number above to volunteer.

A little history about the Mustang Foundation, Inc.

The Mustang Foundation, Inc. was formed in 1994. The mission of the Foundation is to solicit and receive contributions, grants, gifts and transfer of property to or for the benefit of the Independence Community School District.

In 1998 Rudy Leytze donated $100,000 to create the Mustang Foundation Endowment Fund. The Foundation’s annual community banquet was created to strengthen the endowment fund. Additionally, a portion of the banquet’s proceeds goes directly towards a selected school project.

Since the formation of the Foundation, the organization has funneled over $3 million in gifts toward the betterment of the Independence Community School District.

The Mustang Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) is a 501 (c) (3) public charity and is qualified by the IRS to receive tax-deductible gifts, bequests, devises or transfers.

In-Kind Donors Wanted in the Construction of the New Jr./Sr. High School

The Mustang Foundation, Inc. and local volunteers are working hard to raise the funds needed to build the new Jr./Sr. High School and they can’t accomplish this goal without your support.

“Of course we always welcome monetary donations for the project, but we are also excited about our in-kind donors and all the work they are willing to commit to get this project completed on time and within budget”, stated Bruce Neeley, the project’s in-kind donation leader. “We are seeking in-kind donors in several areas including the use of equipment to move dirt, assistance in landscaping, concrete work and painting.”

Several volunteers have already committed to helping with the building site’s preparation this spring, but more are needed. If you are interested in donating supplies or labor, please contact Bruce Neeley (neeleybruche@yahoo.com or 319-230-0017). Monetary donations are tax-deductible through Mustang Foundation, Inc.

Fundraising efforts continue and the response to our campaign has been very positive. Donors have been generous and have really gotten behind the campaign. “As of December 31, 2011, we had nearly 300 pledges and we were approximately 75% of the way to our $6,000,000 goal.” stated Rob Robinson, Treasurer for Mustang Foundation, Inc. “Fundraising committee members continue to meet with potential donors on a regular basis and we welcome additional support.”

If you are interested in more information on making a financial pledge, contact Rob Robinson (rob.robinson@bankiowa.com or 319-334-7181).
